Hues Within separates records stored on your device from account and backup information stored in the cloud. Complete every step that applies to the information you want to remove. Export any report or share image you want to keep before deleting data.
Delete an individual check-in
- Open History in Hues Within.
- Open the day you want to remove.
- Choose Delete and confirm.
This permanently erases that day’s check-in. It does not delete separate prescription-history records or files already generated, cached, saved, or shared. When you are signed in, Hues Within also removes the backed-up answers and keeps a deletion marker so an older device does not restore them. If the backup service is temporarily unavailable, the app keeps the deletion locally and retries after a later signed-in sync.
Erase guest records and generated files from this device
- Open Settings in Hues Within.
- Open Privacy & data, then under Erase data choose Erase my data.
- Confirm Erase permanently.
When this process completes successfully, it permanently removes the app's local check-ins, prescription history, period and cycle records, profile, custom questions, and other record-related preferences. It cancels pending Hues Within reminders, dismisses delivered Hues Within notifications, removes reminder settings, and attempts to delete cached PDF (Portable Document Format) or spreadsheet reports and cached chart or calendar share images that the app can access.
The guest control keeps your language choice, app-lock setting, and separately stored guest legal and Insights choices, including whether the first-use Insights explanation has been shown. Erasing records does not reset or withdraw those choices; use the separate controls to change them. It cannot remove a report or image you already saved to Files, Photos, another app, or another person's device. You can also remove the local app database by deleting Hues Within and choosing Delete App rather than only removing it from the Home Screen. Device or cloud backups managed by your operating system may retain an older copy until that backup is deleted or expires.
The in-app Erase my data control appears only when you are using Hues Within without an account. If local app data is removed outside that control while you are signed in, saved check-ins in your Hues Within account can be restored to the device. Delete individual check-ins first, or delete your account below, if you also want the Hues Within cloud backup removed.
Delete your Hues Within account and active cloud records
- Open Settings in Hues Within.
- Open Profile & account, then choose Delete account.
- Confirm with Delete permanently.
When the process completes successfully, it permanently deletes the authentication account, backed-up check-ins, deletion markers, basic-profile backup (including the optional name on reports), account legal and Insights choice records, and Hues Within Plus entitlement record. It also clears this account’s cached legal and Insights state, performs the local cleanup described above, resets the app-lock and language settings on this device, and signs you out.
Account deletion removes active Hues Within backups. Provider recovery copies, limited purchase and Apple sign-in records, and files saved or shared outside the app have separate retention limits below.
Limited records that may remain after account deletion
- Information: Account-linked purchase records: Apple original transaction identifier, product, plan, latest transaction-signed date and verification times. The deleted Hues Within account identifier is removed. These records contain no journal entries, profile details or account email.
Purpose: Restore the same purchase and prevent duplicate or conflicting claims.
Retention: Kept only while reasonably needed for purchase restoration, transaction changes, fraud prevention, disputes or legal obligations. Apple keeps its own purchase records separately. - Information: Apple purchase-notification identifier and receipt time, without journal entries, profile details or account email.
Purpose: Prevent the same purchase notification from being processed twice.
Retention: Kept while reasonably needed for the purchase, security and legal purposes above. - Information: An Apple-issued sign-in credential, only if Apple disconnection fails during account deletion. Access is restricted to the server.
Purpose: Finish disconnecting Sign in with Apple without blocking account deletion.
Retention: A manual retry removes it when disconnection succeeds or on the first retry after 14 days. Because retries are manual, it can remain longer than 14 days.
These records remain subject to applicable privacy rights. The regional notices explain how to request a review of their retention or deletion.
The deletion cannot be undone. If the app reports an error or the process does not finish, do not assume every copy was removed; retry or contact Hues Within. Deleting the account does not cancel an Apple subscription or erase Apple’s independent purchase records; manage an active subscription in your Apple account before deleting Hues Within.
If you cannot access the app
Email the address below from the email associated with your account and use the subject Delete my Hues Within account. Include only the account email; do not email journal entries, medication information, or other sensitive health details. Hues Within may verify account ownership before completing the request.

What Hues Within cannot delete for you
Hues Within cannot delete account or purchase information held independently by Apple or another provider. Use that provider's controls for its original data and account. Hues Within also cannot remove a PDF, spreadsheet, chart image, or calendar image after you save it or share it outside the app.
Understand what is stored where
- On your device: check-ins, prescription history, period and cycle records, custom questions, profile and preferences, reminders, and cached reports or share images. Insights are calculated on-device from those records only after you turn Insights on.
- In your Hues Within account: authentication details, legal and Insights choice records, and private backups of saved check-ins, personal details (including an optional birthday), current and past prescriptions, custom questions and tags, app setup and backed-up preferences.
Your working records stay on your device. With an account and the required sensitive-data consent, Hues Within also backs up saved check-ins, personal details (including an optional birthday), current and past prescriptions, custom questions and tags, and app settings. Settings include tracking and comparison choices, language, reminders, touch feedback, seasonal effects and app lock. Period and medication answers are included in their saved check-ins.
Insights and phase estimates are calculated on your device. Exports are separate copies. A new phone needs its own notification permissions and unlock method; device passcodes and biometric credentials are not backed up. Pending changes retry when synchronization is available. An offline or failed backup is not a confirmed account copy.
Signing out. Signing out keeps your account and backups. Records are cleared from the phone only after their backup is confirmed. Otherwise they remain in this account’s separate storage on the phone for your next sign-in. If local cleanup fails, you remain signed in to retry.
Erasing recorded data while keeping an account is currently unavailable.
Turn off Insights or withdraw sensitive-data consent
Insights is optional and off until you turn it on. It analyzes your recorded answers on this device, including frequently used tag suggestions. This choice is separate from accepting the Terms and consenting to sensitive-data processing. With Insights off and the required consent in place, you can still record, read History and export recorded information; new reports omit analysis.
Turning Insights off does not delete records or files already created or shared. The choice applies on this device before it is sent to your account. Offline choice records are saved for retry. If the device cannot save the choice, it may not remain off after restarting. Withdrawing sensitive-data consent is a separate choice: check-ins, History, Insights and backup pause until you consent again. Privacy information, support and urgent-support information, Apple subscription management, sign-out, account deletion and the applicable guest-erasure control remain available.
The separate sensitive-data consent control in Settings withdraws consent for future sensitive-data processing and pauses the core recording and backup features. Deletion controls remain available. Neither turning Insights off nor withdrawing sensitive-data consent automatically deletes your data. Use the applicable steps below to delete records or an account, and remove saved or shared files separately.
